Thank you for purchasing the 'Electronic Toolkit' Tassman 4 sound bank.

Installation and precautions.

Installation

1.
-In Tassman, go to FILE, IMPORT, select the 'HIMALAYA-ELECTRONIC TOOLKIT' txf file.
This will import all sound and instrument data folders. You should not need to import instruments separately. However, they are included in a separate folder, as back up.

-The import may take a while. 30 minutes on my Pentium 4, 2.4 Ghz PC. Time for a tea break....

-You may get a pop up asking if Monomer3 should be imported. Select 'YES'.

-After the import, locate the HIMALAYA-ELECTRONIC TOOLKIT folder. This contains all performances which you will use. You may copy it to your designated folder. In the import folder, you will also see instrument DATA folders, which contain midi links and presets.

Precautions.

2.
Do not audition sounds using PRESETS. Use PERFORMANCES only.

By selecting presets from within each synth, you will loose midi links and more importantly risk output clipping.

3.
DO NOT audition these sounds at high volume levels, especially using headphones. Some sounds contain sweeping resonant peaks assigned to the modulation wheel, which may prove to be painful to the unexpecting ear.

4.
When browsing the library be aware that you may experience clicks and loud pops when changing one performance to another, if the notes played haven't stopped sounding. This is especially heard on pads using the PolyTuned Paduke synth.

General.

5.
The volume of each performance is set to its optimum level. However, some sounds are set at lower volume than average due to higher resonant peaks introduced during modulation wheel use.

6.
Certain bass sounds are designed to clip to give a hard edge. This is done in the Otari synth using the waveshaper and limiter modules.

7.
A separate VOICE folder collects all the sounds that have a vocal quality to them. This is just for your convenience, as all these sounds are present in their respective instrument groups.

8.
Lastly, Do use the modulation wheel. Certain sounds will not come alive without the modulation wheel/modulation stick.

All sounds tested with Tassman4 4.00 and 4.1.1 on the PC using standalone and VSTi plugin format.

Please do not re-distribute this sound bank, or its individual performances and presets.

I hope you enjoy these sounds as much as I enjoyed creating them.
Happy music making.

:-)
